New Jersey State Legislature
New Jersey Statutes, constitution, chapter laws, and bills are available full-text.  This site lists all members of the Assembly and Senate and allows you to search for your legislator by town or district.  The legislative calendar tracks the progress of legislation in Trenton including public hearings and committee meetings.

New Jersey State Library Legislative Histories
The State Library compiles legislative histories on all New Jersey laws which are general and permanent, and are added to NJSA. A legislative history is a compilation of the documents which express the purpose or intent behind the passage of a particular law. Appropriations, temporary and executed, and repealed acts are excluded.

Self-Help Legal Forms
The South Brunswick Library owns many books published by Nolo Press, a major publisher of self-help legal books designed for the lay person. Although it always best to consult an attorney for legal matters, these self-help legal books (which include forms) may be referred to for guidance. publishes books on general and specialized legal topics such as divorce, wills, and bankruptcy.  Check the library catalog for self-help legal books published by Nolo Press.


Data Universe
A collection of databases compiled by the Asbury Park Press of public records and public information pertaining to New Jersey residents, businesses, public employees or employees of businesses in the state. Find conviction records, death records, public sector contracts, property sales, teachers and school administrators, police and paid firefighters, Rutgers University employees, and more.

New Jersey Sex Offender Internet Registry.
The registry contains information about level 2 (moderate risk) and level 3 (high risk) sex offenders. Search by name, location or vehicle. Information provided includes the offender’s name and address, aliases, a brief description as well as the date and location of the disposition of the offense, a re-offense ranking of moderate or high, age, race, sex, date of birth and physical description, a dated photograph, and the make, model, color, year and license plate number of any vehicle operated by the offender.

New Jersey Offender Search
Find the offender search option in the left-hand menu. The database contains information about offenders, who are currently housed in Department of Corrections’ facilities as well as those who have been paroled or released from prison. Search by name or other criteria to find name, identification numbers, current location, parole eligibility date, sentencing information, admission and release dates, and known aliases.

New Jersey Superior Court Conviction Records

Compiled from public information sources, this New Jersey convictions database lets you search by full or partial name to find a criminal’s full name, date of birth, county of conviction, sentencing date, indictment number, type of crime, judge, jail time, penalties and fines. The database covers convictions from 2000 to April 2009.
